Speaker Bios:

@KerrySheareris an accomplished videographer and editor, using the latest HDV video cameras and computer editing equipment to produce long-form and short-turnaround videos. One of Sacramento's most versatile communications professionals, with skills ranging from issues management to crisis response, social media outreach, regional marketing campaigns, audio and video production, news reporting, broadcasting and webcasting.

Kerry's expertise in social media and video use in public agencies has become nationally recognized. He has made presentations to the Albany, NY Center for Public Health Preparedness, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the California Department of Public Health, the U.C. Berkeley School of Public Health, the National Association of Clean Air Agencies, the U.S. EPA's National Air Quality Conference, the California Immunization Registry Annual Conference, and has provided counsel to more than a dozen local health departments across the country.

As a self-confessed technogeek, Kerry designed and built a small 3-camera web studio for Sacramento County Public Health that served as "home base" for shooting videos, podcasts, breaking health news updates and live interviews via Skype. The studio also became known as a perfect location for local TV reporters to shoot news interviews due to its colorful set and pre-installed e-studio lighting, which was much-appreciated by the growing numbers of "one-man-band" reporters who shoot, report, and edit their own stories. Kerry is active shooting and editing web videos for state and local businesses and agencies who realize the importance web video can play in communicating their message.

@SacAppraiserRyan Lundquist, is a real estate appraiser with Lundquist Appraisal Company. Ryan has been very intentional and focused on building a strong online presence and uses video in his business plan regularly to be a resource to clients, earn new business and build his brand. He has a green screen hanging in his office (one he made) and has uploaded 200 videos on YouTube. Ryan uses video on his websites, Facebook page and on his appraisal blog, which is one of the top appraisal blogs in the State of California. He also founded Sacramento Real Estate Tube as a free service to the community. This website has nearly 400 videos so far and is a place for consumers and agents to view local real estate videos that are resourceful and informative.

Ryan is also involved in improving his community in Rancho Cordova and has been the recipient of the Rotary Club's "Citizen of the Year" award and has also received awards for his efforts with Project 680, a non-profit volunteer organization he founded to help advocate for homeless students. "Community building" is often an overused term, but it's something Ryan takes very seriously as he is constantly juggling community projects and efforts in his neighborhood and city.

As we embrace new technology. Just think about how our world has changed in the past ten years, and how words like “Google” and “YouTube” and “Facebook” are now household terms. Technological advances are happening all around us (quickly) and we need to stay on top of trends to stay relevant.
